Bridging is the process of preparing and celebrating a Girl Scout's transition to the next Grade Level.
The bridging troop/group typically does an activity from the Girl Scout resources associated with the upcoming grade level and completes a project or does an activity with a troop/group at the next grade level.
After the troop/group has had a taste of what lies ahead for them in Girl Scouts, they hold a ceremony to mark the transition.

Bridging Leaders/Co-Leaders -- To prepare yourself for the next gradel level, you do not require any additional structured training. Here are some suggestions for your "bridging" process:
- Review the social/developmental characteristics of girls at the next grade level by reviewing the Volunteer Essentials section on Program and the Adult-Girl Partnership.
- Review the Troop Year Planning Guide for the next grade level.
- Review the Program Resources (Journeys, Handbooks, etc.) for your next grade level.
- Talk with leaders in your Service Unit who are working or who have worked with girls at the next grade level.
