2010 Sessions
Participants must have boots or shoes with a smooth sole and a ½ inch heel for safety purposes. Helmets are provided. All girls will discover the whole camp experience: horseback riding, hiking, campfires, games, arts, and much, much more!
Programs for grades 2 - 3 as of 2/15/10
Lil Buckaroos 6/13-6/18/10 or 6/27-7/2/10 $350
Horse camp for the first time rider! Ride a horse in the corral; learn about grooming and feeding and visit your horse every day. Spend time sharing horse tales with your fellow campers and cooking outside!!
Tumbleweeds 6/20-6/25/10 $350
For the camper who has already participated one year at Pine Creek or *equivalent experience, get a refresher course in horse care and riding. Get out of the corral and onto the trail, learn the parts of the horse and tack!
Programs for Grades 4 -5 as of 2/15/10
Pony Tails 6/13-6/18/10 or 6/27-7/2/10 $350
This session is made for the first time horseback rider. Get the basics of horseback riding: safety, saddling, riding techniques and horse care. Have the chance to laugh and make friends as you trot down the trail on horseback.
Ridge Riders 6/20-6/25 or 6/27-7/2/10 $350
For the camper who has already participated one year at Pine Creek or *equivalent experience. Take trail rides and learn more advanced horse care. Put on a horse show for fellow campers!
Muggle Magic 6/20-6/25/10 $350
It’s time for making potions, herbology hikes, and care of magical creatures! Girls will enjoy an enchanting experience as they discover horseback riding, cooking cool concoctions, and investigating the world beneath their feet. Compete in our Hogwarts Quidditch tournament, campfires, games, crafts and more.
Wild Wild West 7/4-7/9/10 $350
For the rider who has participated at Pine Creek for two years or *equivalent experience. Girls will take their riding skills to the next level with our enthusiastic wranglers. Experience life on the frontier learning pioneering skills and living the Wild West at its best.
Programs for Grades 6-8 as of 2/15/10
Saddle Up 6/13-6/18/10 or 6/27-7/2/10 $350
This session is made for the first time horseback rider, focusing on beginner riding and horse care techniques. Once comfortable with their horses, girls will get out of the corral and take a trail ride!
Bits and Stirrups 7/4-7/9/10 $350
For the rider with one year experience who wants to become more familiar with caring for horse and tack. Campers will enjoy scenic trail rides, hikes, and outdoor cooking.
Explorin’ the Ranch 6/20-6/25/10 $350
For the rider who has participated at Pine Creek for two years or *equivalent experience. Campers spend days trotting the trails, learning more complex horse care and advancing their horseback riding skills. Girls will cook on the trail and enjoy all Pine Creek has to offer.
Programs for Grades 9-12 as of 2/15/10
Horse Play 6/13-6/18/10 $350
This session is for the camper who has participated one year at Pine Creek or *equivalent experience and is comfortable on a horse. Campers will learn simple, fun games on horseback, ride the trail, and put on a gymkhana the last day!
Ghost Riders 7/4-7/9/10 $400
This camp session is for riders that have been at Pine Creek for at least three years or *equivalent experience. Campers will take an overnight on horseback, cook on the trail while learning trail safety and exploring the wilderness around them.
*Riders will need some experience riding such as: horse 4-H, other horse camp, riding lessons, having ridden for several years on a family ranch, etc.
Specialty sessions for grades 2-12 as of 2/15/10
Mom and Me PCR- 6/11-6/13/10 $100/person
Bring your most special adult lady (must be at least 18 years old) and come to camp for a weekend of summer fun. Participate in outdoor games, nature hikes and spend time on horseback. Meals provided.
Core Camp PCR 6/25-6/27/10 $100/person (3 days)
Would you like your entire troop to go camping together, but not ready to be on your own? Core Camp offers staff that manages horseback riding activities. All other programs are the responsibility of the troop. All girls and adults attending Core Camp must be registered Girl Scouts. Meals provided.
