April 20th is Super Workshop Friday!

Read about the workshops below and check out the schedule and registration details on the right.

All About Bullying

Darrel Harris, Youth Programs Coordinator for The Advocates in Hailey, ID, shares her expertise in this 1.5-hour workshop. Darrel will discuss the many facets of bullying and engage us in interactive exercises to gain a deeper understanding of bullying, how we recognize it, how we deal with it, and how we prevent it.

Balancing Freedom, Fear, & Focus in Everyday Life

In their accumulated experience, Janet Lawler (victim witness coordinator), Lisa Johnson (licensed counselor), and Susannah Arnim (college faculty member) have seen too many instances where young women make unhealthy choices as they move away from family structures. In this 1.5-hour workshop, Janet, Lisa, and Susannah will share their unique approach to empowering young women to make healthy choices by helping them understand their own strengths and worth, learning healthy ways to handle peer pressure, stress, and intimate relationships.

Engaging Parent & Community Resources

In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will review the many ways you can utilize parent and community resources to add variety to your troop year plan! We will share successes and ideas about how to identify and engage parents, community experts, and organizations who can provide or enhance learning opportunities that align with our Journeys and badge-earning activities.

Conflict Resolution

In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will discuss the variety of conflict situations that occur in the troop environment, and focus particularly on conflicts that arise between volunteers and parents. We will discuss the types of volunteer-parent conflict, such as level of parent involvement, parent daughter relationship, and general miscommunication. As a group, we will share tips and techniques for resolving conflict situations and role-play scenarios to help us all learn how to recognize and manage conflict situations in positive ways.

Introduction to Journeys & Girl's Guides

In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will review the three main components of the Girl Scout Program Portfolio - Leadership Journeys, Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting, and Skill-Building Badge Sets. We will focus our attention on the core or our program - Journeys - so that we understand the basics of session planning and how really flexible they can be! This workshop earns credit for Course 203. It is strongly recommended that you take the online 203 course prior to attending this session.

Program Chat

Join the Program Team in an 1.5-hour open discussion of Girl Scout Program. Bring all of your program questions, big or small, about journeys, girl's guides, program planning, highest awards, destinations, and more! Even if you don't have a specific question, just sit in and bask in the knowledge sharing.

Service Units Rock!

Girl Scouts of Silver Sage would be nowhere without our dedicated Service Units. Our small staff could never support the numbers of adults and girls without this volunteer layer of regional management and support. So, we offer this 1.5-hour workshop for some "me" time for Service Unit teams (or anyone interested) to share ideas about how we create powerful groups and a healthy culture. Help us focus this workshop on topics that matter most to you by sending an email with suggestions to Lori Martin at lmartin@girlscouts-ssc.org.

Take Action & Highest Awards

In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will review the Take Action Leadership Key which is the first step in understanding Highest Awards. Then, we'll dive into the requirements for Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards so that we are empowered to educate our girls and parents about the incredible potential for Leadership Development.

Team Building for All Ages

In this 1.5-hour workshop, we will review how team building helps us create group focus and cohesiveness, and reduces conflict so that we can deliver quality Girl Scout program that engages girls. We will practice and reflect on a variety of techniques, including some from our Leadership Journeys.
