Standard Cancellation/Refund Policy
GSSSC is reluctant to cancel programs. However, occasionally the need arises due to weather, safety concerns or low registration. When bad weather results in a cancellation, every attempt will be made to contact the registrants. Please maintain accurate contact information with Girl Scouts so staff can reach you in the event of a last-minute cancellation.
Refunds are only given if written cancellations are received two weeks prior to the event. Full refunds are issued after the two-week mark for council programs only if the program is full or cancelled or in the event of a serious illness or death in the family. For serious illness, a doctor’s written note is required within one week after the program takes place.
Camp Cancellation/Refund Policy
Girl Scouts of Silver Sage incurs various expenses in anticipation of a camper’s attendance, such as supplies, equipment, registration, and camp staffing costs. Accordingly, there is a non-refundable deposit: $10-50 deposit per camper.
Refunds will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A request for a refund must be submitted in writing to the Camp Registrar via customercare@girlscouts-ssc.org.
No refunds are given if a girl returns home during camp because of homesickness, inappropriate behavior, and/or other circumstances.
Circumstances when payment will automatically be refunded:
- If GSSSC cancels a session for any reason.
- If you did not receive the campership amount requested, you can receive a full refund of payments, including deposit.
- If your camper becomes ill or is under quarantine and cannot attend the session, and it is not possible to move to a new session, your payments will be refunded less the $10-50 non-refundable deposit. We will make every effort to find a new camp session for your camper to attend.
Program Credit Refunds
As noted on your Program Credit slip, “Individual Program Credit slips cannot be divided to cover more than one event and no cash refunds will be given for any surplus credit.” This means, Program Credits can only be refunded as the specific slip of paper used, for the increment amount it represents. And, we are unable to give cash refunds for any surplus credit. Any surplus Program Credits will not be refunded but donated as Financial Assistance for Girl Scouts in need.
