The process by which the Board of Directors, led by its Chair, elected by and with input from the elected Delegate Members of the Council, uses its authority to ensure organizational stability and fulfillment of the Girl Scout mission by providing leadership, strategic direction, policy making and fiduciary oversight for the council, a non-profit corporation organized under the laws of the state of Idaho.

The Girl Scouts of Silver Sage Annual Business Meeting will be held virtually on Thursday, April 09, 2026, from 6:30p.m. to 8:00p.m., via Zoom.

This serves as OFFICIAL NOTICE of the
Annual Business Meeting of the Silver Sage Girl Scout Council, Inc.
on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
**This will be a virtual web and/or telephone-based meeting, as permitted by the by-laws of the Girl Scouts of Silver Sage. Specific details will be forthcoming to Delegates and Voting Members of the Council.

DELEGATES AND VOTING MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL
WILL RECEIVE A DELEGATE NOTEBOOK (via email) by April 1, 2026. Paper materials will be provided to those who need them to make participation as convenient as possible.
Thank you for your commitment to our movement and your willingness to serve your council this year. The 2026 Annual Meeting will include an opportunity for delegates to give input on matters of importance to our Council and movement.
It is essential that all Delegates participate to meet the requirements of our Council’s legal by-laws.
The role of a Delegate includes the following:
1) to vote on representatives and matters of governance, and
2) to provide input on key issues affecting the Council and the Girl Scout movement.
During this year’s Annual Meeting, Delegates will vote on:
· Approval of 2025 Annual Business Meeting Minutes for April 10, 2025
· Updates made to Silver Sage Bylaws
· Election of directors and officers on the Board of Directors
· Election of 2026-2027 Senior Girl Board Member
· Election of members of the Board Development Committee

What happens at the Annual Meeting
1) Elect officers, directors at large, members of the Board Development Committee; and every three years, the delegates and alternates to the National Convention.
2) Consider any proposed amendments to the bylaws.
3) Provide input on key issues affecting the Council and the Movement.
4) Consider any other business appropriate to come before the corporation in accordance with the process established by the board of directors.
The official bylaws of the Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) are published in a document called the Blue Book of Basics.

Note: Proposed changes to the Blue Book of Basics are submitted to the National Board of Directors and voted on during the tri-annual National Council Session.
Each local council may also have its own set of Bylaws based on the Blue Book of Basics and tailored to each state's governance laws for non-profits.

Our current Bylaws are being modified by a board subcommittee, the final draft version will be presented to our voting delegates at the Annual Business meeting April 9, 2026.
