EXPLORE Idaho's rich geologic history with the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology. This experience will include a hike to the top of Eagle Rock, a tour of the museum, and a discussion about Geoscience careers. Scouts will identify different types of rocks, discuss geologic processes, and study local geology and history.

Hat, water, and sturdy shoes are recommended. Please arrive 10 minutes early for check-in at the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology, 2455 Old Penitentiary Road, Boise, ID 83703. Let's investigate what's in our backyard!

All participants will receive a mineral, hand lens or loupe and the Silver Sage Geology patch. More information about this patch program can be found below. At least one adult, such as a guardian or background-checked volunteer, must be with your scout at all times. There is no cost for the adult.
